Privacy policy.
LAST UPDATED 26 AUGUST 2026
Who we are
Uprise Labs Pty Ltd ("Uprise Labs", "we", "our" or "us") is a worker-owned cooperative studio building digital tools for the progressive movement. This policy explains how we handle personal information for this website – upriselabs.org – in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
The Uprise platform itself – the software our partner organisations use to run their campaigns – is covered by its own privacy policy at uprise.org.au/privacy-policy. If you are a supporter of an organisation that uses Uprise, that organisation is the one responsible for how your information is collected and used; we handle it on their behalf and on their instructions.
What this website collects
We keep this deliberately small. There is no account to create here, no tracking profile, and no advertising network.
- What you send us through the contact form – your name, email address, organisation (optional) and the message you write. That is the only personal information this site asks for.
- Anti-spam verification – our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Cloudflare receives technical signals from your browser (including your IP address) to make that judgement.
- Standard server logs – our hosting provider records requests to the site, including IP address, user agent and the page requested, for security and reliability.
How we use it
We use what you send us to reply to you and, if it goes somewhere, to scope and discuss the work. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not sell or rent your details, and we do not use them for anything you would not reasonably expect from getting in touch with a studio (APP 6).
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only to the service providers that make this site and our email work, and only for that purpose:
- Our hosting and platform providers, who serve this site and run our API
- Cloudflare, for the anti-spam verification described above
- Our transactional email provider, which delivers your enquiry to our inbox
- Where the law requires or authorises it
Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to see that your information is handled consistently with the APPs (APP 8).
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay in our inbox and records for as long as the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can pick up where we left off. Ask us to delete your enquiry and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information: encryption in transit, access controls on our systems, and ongoing security review. If a data breach likely to result in serious harm occurs, we will respond under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including notifying affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act you may:
- Ask for access to the personal information we hold about you (APP 12)
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate or out of date (APP 13)
- Ask us to delete your information, where we are able to
- Make a complaint about how we have handled it
If the information you are asking about is held by us on behalf of one of our partner organisations, we will refer your request to them.
Complaints
Email us at contact@upriselabs.org and we will respond within a reasonable time. If our response doesn't satisfy you, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, the revised version goes on this page and the "last updated" date above changes with it.
